What are you cooking for Thanksgiving Dinner?

Nov 27, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Recipes, Menu Planning

Many of you want to know what I am cooking for my family on Thanksgiving Day. Here is the menu for the day with a few recipes.

Jennie O’s Oven Ready Turkey Breast
    Gravy
    Glazed Sweet Potatoes
    Homemade Creamed Corn
    Butter Beans
    My Famous Macaroni & Cheese
    Homemade Mashed Potatoes
    Cranberry Sauce
    Sister Schubert’s Homemade Dinner Rolls

For dessert we have 3 options…
    Pumpkin Pie
    Pecan Pie
Better Bakes Oatmeal Raisin Organic Cookies

I must state that I went shopping on Tuesday and the world was out of macaroni or so it seemed. Every single store I went to no one had any macaroni noodles left, it seems that everyone will be eating macaroni and cheese today.

So what are you eating today on Turkey Day? Are you cooking or going to a friend/relatives house?

    Campbells we love you!

Holidays wouldn’t be the same with out Campbell’s, would it not? Campbell’s is the brand that we associate with all of our favorite holiday meals from green bean casserole to everyday dishes like Chicken Noodle Soup. While I was in Bentonville, Arkansas meeting with the Walmart Elevenmoms we had the opportunity to eat dinner at Campbell’s kitchen. What a fun experience that was! Chef Lee gave us a cooking demonstration on how to prepare the perfect thanksgiving dinner then we got to feast on that dinner as we discussed what we loved about Campbell’s. It was great meeting with all of the Campbell’s folks because like many other Americans, Campbell’s is what we grew up on. We love the red and white can that is typically a staple in all of our homes.

    Eleven Moms with Chef Lee

I recently received a giftbasket from Campbell’s that contained all kinds of great Campbell’s goodies like a Campbell’s baking dish with their signature green bean casserole recipe painted on the bottom of the dish so you’ll have no problem remembering how to make this favorited treat for your family. Another item from Campbells that I think everyone should have in their home is the Campbell’s Cooking Companion (The Ultimate Cookbook) and recipebox. The Cooking Campanion contains all the recipes you’ve ever wanted to make in a simple easy to follow layout that can make even the most kitchen challenged person look to be a professional chef. The Cooking Campanion is something that my family and I look to and use every single day. We love discovering new recipes and incorporating them into our monthly menu. The Cooking Companion and recipebox are so easy to follow and are prepared with items that you typically have on hand in your house anyway that my husband can even make these recipes without any trouble at all. You do not have to be a chef or an experience cook to have beautiful delicious meals. Campbell’s makes it so easy and irresistible.

Since I loved the Campbell’s Cooking Companion cookbook and recipebox so much, I even dedicated a whole month in my menu planning to be solely recipes that we found in this cookbook. You can see this menu and even print it but you will have to get the Cookbook Companion and the recipebox to try these recipes for yourself in your home.

Thank you Campbell’s for all that you do. I enjoyed having Thanksgiving Dinner with all of you and having a sneak peak into the Campbell’s Kitchen. Out of all the Bentonville activites that I got to experience as an Elevenmom the Chef Lee demonstration was by far one of my favorite events right up there with meeting Paula Deen. You guys rock!

    Update

Our first week of nothing but Campbell’s recipes for dinner is going great. Here is an utterz of how we have been LOVING our Campbell’s cookbook….

This month I am starting a new feature on this blog and it is sharing with you my monthly menu plan. One thing that we do in our household to save money is 1. plan a menu for the entire month and 2. we only go grocery shopping once a month based on the menu that I have created. This eliminates the nagging “what’s for dinner, mom?” questions and takes one more stress out of my life.

So from now on you will be able to check out our …
    Monthly Menu Plan
…each and every single month in the sidebar (to your right) to see what’s cooking at our table each night of the week. In the details of each nights dinner you will see what cookbook the recipes come from if I am using a cookbook that night or if it is something I’ve created myself you can find those recipes here at this website. You can print out our family menu if you want to follow along with us if you so choose to do that as well.

I hope you enjoy the menu and I also hope it motivates you to create your own menu at home whether it be for a week or a whole month like we do. You can also subscribe to my monthly menu if you want to have each days menu automatically updated in your favorite feed reader.
