On Valentine’s Day, I will spend the majority of my day in the kitchen cooking up loads of delicious treats for my husband and family to enjoy. Among some of the sweet things I will be baking are…
When I’m in the kitchen and start to bake, I bake a lot. I like to knock out a weeks worth of baking in one single day and since I figured I’d be making sweet Valentine’s treats for my husband that I might as well make some addition treats for the rest of the week.
Valentine’s morning will consist of “the Love Breakfast”. The “Love Breakfast” is simply…
Gotta start the day out the right way!!! Tomorrow night we will have an elegant dinner prepared by yours truly. On the menu we have…
And for Dessert that night…
Many of you know that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach so what better way to show my husband how much I love him than by cooking him some fabulous treats!
…Just wanted to give you guys a sneak peek into what is going on at the Diva’s house on Valentine’s day!
Oh my goodness, I love this cookbook. Every single cookie that I have tried out has turned out so delicious. Everyone loves them and they are so easy to make!!! Heather and Lucinda Wallace have done a fabulous job making this cookbook. Easy Peasy Recipes is a great cookbook for beginners and advanced cooks a like. It is easy enough for a beginner to follow and would make a great house warming present for anyone.

Today, I will be spending a lot of time in the kitchen. Every year, I try to giveaway a gift to family and friends that I have personally made. This year I am making Homemade Hard Peppermint Candy. I will put the candy in Christmas Jars that I found at the Dollar Store and give them as gifts on Christmas Eve.

For those of you that want my treasured homemade hard peppermint candy recipe you can find it at my recipe site, Recipe Rush. This recipe is so easy to make, I don’t see why you would ever buy candy from a store again. You don’t have to just make peppermint, you can buy different flavored oils to make all different kinds of candy like butterscotch, lemon, or even grape. Whatever you have a taste for really can be made into a hard candy.
If you try out the recipe or have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll try to help any way I can. I love hearing from others how the recipe worked for them, so don’t forget to comment.
Happy Holidays! Let the candy making begin!!

Recipe Rush recently had two new recipes added. If you haven’t checked them out, then you definitely should. They are delicious! The spaghetti bake was a HUGE hit with hubby. He had 3 helpings!!! And the Dirt Dessert is one of p-nuts favorites to make as well as eat.

I found this fabulous Broccoli and Shrimp Angel Hair Pasta recipe over at Recipe Rush and showed it to J. He said, “That sounds tasty, let’s try it!”. So yesterday, I gathered the ingredients and made it.
It is a very easy, very quick recipe. I am very happy about that alone because there are nights where I don’t want to spend more than 30 minutes preparing, cooking and serving a meal. I love to cook but sometimes a girl is tired!
Taste Test by Two Kids (one 4-yr old and one 16-mon old) - Both of the kids LOVED it. They both scarfed it down and Sissy (4-yr old) asked (and ate!) for seconds! That will make any mom happy!
Taste Test by Two Adults - J was sick and had a stopped up nose, so his review is disqualified. He said it seemed to be good, but he couldn’t taste anything, not even the Coke he had to drink with dinner. I liked it myself. It was pretty tasty.
When I make this next time, I will double the sauce portion and add more broccoli and bigger shrimp. We are a ’saucy’ family and I know J loves more shrimp. In fact, he can’t seem to get enough of shrimp.
This was a good recipe and even though my family prefers more sauce, it had good flavor just the way it was. I definitely will be back to try more of TheDomesticDiva’s recipes!
Thank you Tam for such a lovely review, I’m glad you enjoyed the recipe. If anyone tries one of my recipes and writes a review about it please by all means let me know so that I might return the favor with a little linky love.
I just posted the recipes that we made the other day for Easter over at Recipe Rush.
Today, I made Apple Clafouti for breakfast. We only had a couple eggs, buttermilk, and apples to make breakfast with so I decided to give this recipe a try. It turned out really good and it fed the whole hungry herd of boys for breakfast. Yes, we had the step-sons over this weekend, that is one of the reason why we don’t have any food left in the house. They are like vaccuum cleaners. They ate everything and anything in sight.
I just posted the Apple Clafouti recipe over at Recipe Rush. Go check it out if you are interested in making it as well.
