Getting Back to Love: When the Pushing and Pulling Threaten to Tear You Apart is a good read for couples. It is about how a Mama’s Boy and a Daddy’s Girl personality types have a great potential for passion and romance but if not handled correctly have the potential for ending in tragedy. I am very much a Daddy’s Girl who finds great fulfillment in taking care of others especially my husband. Getting the OK or pleasing my husband or father is probably the greatest fulfillment that I have in life because they are the ones that mean the most to me. As much as my husband hates to admit it due to the death of his mother at the age of 5, he is still a Mama’s Boy. He loves to be taken care of and finds power knowing that I am happy.

I am only half way through this book and finds that it is helping our relationship tremendously. I hope that once I finish reading it once through myself to incorporate this book into hubby and I’s nightime devotionals so that we might learn from the book together as a couple. I think that we must first be open and willing to hear the things that we need to change in order to do some good in our relationship.

Often as mothers we often wonder why our husband’s don’t take as much interest in our children as we do. We don’t understand how husband’s really feel as a Dad. There is a book called The Modern Mom’s Guide to Dad: Ten Secrets Your Husbands Won’t Tell You that attempts to help Moms ease their minds and reveals a little more into what Husbands are feeling when they become Fathers. Men are often very protective over their feelings. More than likely you have had the conversation with your husband of why he won’t help out more with the children or with household chores. This book helps to explain what your husband’s fears and hopes are as well as how to get him more involved in family activities. Not only does this book help in areas concerning the children but it also helps areas of your marriage that have been drastically changed due to having little ones. Really I do not want to say a whole lot more because I do not want to give the book away but really it is a good read and a must for all parents!

This book is a must-read for anyone who has children, are pregnant, or are thinking of becoming parents.

Heartfelt Stories

Jan 4, 2008 Author: The Domestic Diva | Filed under: Product Reviews, Books

I like the book by Heartfelt Stories because they provide both a positive and encouraging message to children without coming off as preachy. Do you want to get your kids to brush their teeth not only properly but even at all? Read them the story about Toby Gets the Brush Off . Then after you have read the story you both can go into the bathroom and brush “toby”.
More Than a Spoonful teaches children that it is ok to be different. Everyone has their own abilities and talents. This is great book to read to the kids after they come home from having a rough day at school.

I love the positive messages that the Heartfelt Story books have in them. They are a great help in everyday life and helps us mothers out when we need an example but just can’t think of one.

I’ve never heard of the Sweet Potato Queen nor have I read any of her books until I received a copy of one of her latest books entitled “The Sweet Potato Queens’ Guide to Raising Children for Fun and Profit“. Oh my gosh, I have never laughed so hard in my life. This book is fantastic. So fantastic in fact that I could not put this book down from the moment I got it. I go this book two days ago in the mail. That night while cooking supper, I opted to start reading. Big mistake. I couldn’t put it down, I read during supper, in the bed and before you know it was 3 in the morning. I managed to pull myself away for a couple hours of sleep but the moment I got up again, I cracked the book open. I finished reading this book in two days. It is wonderful and so hilarious. You will be shaking your head in agreement, laughing till your side hurts, and calling your friends to tell them about this book. I love it! You can grab a copy of The Sweet Potato Queens’ Guide to Raising Children for Fun and Profit online or at your favorite bookstore.

The Parent You Want to Be: Who You Are Matters More Than What You Do is a great book that inspires parents to be better at who they are rather than what they do. This book helps you figure out the traits that you would like to instill in your children the most and how to actually get them to stick.

How many times have you said “Do as I say not as I do”? I know I’ve said it at least once. The Parent You Want to Be: Who You Are Matters More Than What You Do will help you achieve your goals of instilling only the best qualities in your children, afterall you are their number one role model above anyone else.

The Parent You Want to Be: Who You Are Matters More Than What You Do helps you avoid being the parent that you do not want to be in as little as three easy steps. “Intential traits” are the key and can even be instilled on your worst possible day.

I recommend any parent picking up this book. It is short and straight to the point so even the busiest moms can find time to get some parenting wisdom. This is a great book to end your day with.

This book has saved me from making some really bad fashion mistakes as well as turned me into a more put together, better-looking Diva than I was before I find my fashion guide.
