2 “sexually suggestive” nut and bolt necklaces + a couple out of pocket dollars= priceless humor and one heck of a fashion statement
The other day while checking out a new store in the single stored building this small town calls a mall, I came across these two necklaces of a nut and bolt at Claire’s (on clearance! gotta love clearance). I simply could not resist getting hubby and I these totally adorable and unique necklaces to wear in style.
I of course am sporting the nut and hubby is wearing the bolt. I will let your imaginations out what they REALLY represent! Oh the conversations we will launch into with these necklaces around our necks. I love the humor of it all and best of all it only cost me a couple bucks.
Do you have an funny, matching jewelry you and your significant other wears? Would you rock a nut or a bolt necklace? Do you think you could get your husband to wear one?
So I went and bought CVS Continuous Spray Sunscreen to take on my trip to California for the Sony Mommy Blogger Event. I also went and got my nails done at the same time. I can’t be representing the Domestic Diva with messed up nails and sunburned skin. Anyway, the other day I put it on and some of it got on my “new nails”. I didn’t think anything of it except for the fact that my nails got sticky all of a sudden. I quickly tried to wash this stuff of but apparently the damage was already done. CVS brand Sunscreen ruined my $30 nail job. The stuff just ate right through the fingernail polish.
If this stuff eats through fingernail polish like it was fingernail polish remover, imagine what else this stuff can do. I think I am going to leave this stuff behind in the hotel because it sounds a little dangerous to me.
Who would have thought that sunscreen would try to eat you alive?
My mother and I went to a Children’s Consignment Sale last weekend and got the boys all the clothes that they need for this summer and part of the fall. I love the Children’s Consignment Sale because it is such a bargain. It is a group of mothers that sell their used clothing, furniture, etc. Basically it is like 50 women selling off their old kids stuff at one huge yard sale.
Can you believe I got all of this for just $50!

I just won a mac off of Ebay. I fought tooth and nail to get this laptop down to the very last second. It is good to see that all of my hard work with this website paid off for something. I now have a new computer thanks to my favorite job in the whole world…Pay Per Post. I will tell you more about it once it actually gets here but for right now, all you and I can do is look at the pretty picture….

Some people have been asking me what kind of camera I use to take all of my photos for reviews and such. The answer to that question is a Canon PowerShot A560 7.1MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom. The Canon Powershot is the best camera in its price range. You can get professional looking photographs without having to go out and buy a $1,000 camera. This camera is great and easy to use. Whether you are a beginner or a semi-professional you’ll really love the quality of photographs that come from this camera. My father is a professional photographer, he was even impressed with this camera so I know it must be good.
I recently received the Canon Powershot as a Christmas present because lets face it I was way past due getting a new camera. The camera I had before, Nikon Coolpix 2200, was OK but it didn’t really do the job. I couldn’t zoom and the picture quality was very low. I am so happy with my Canon PowerShot A560 7.1MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom that I can’t find enough things to photograph.
Now all I need to do is get my father over here so he can teach me some professional camera tricks. I do know one thing though. My flickr photo album is going to be blowing up now!
*please note: this is not a paid review, this is an independent review on a product I received as a gift
Today, I will be spending a lot of time in the kitchen. Every year, I try to giveaway a gift to family and friends that I have personally made. This year I am making Homemade Hard Peppermint Candy. I will put the candy in Christmas Jars that I found at the Dollar Store and give them as gifts on Christmas Eve.

For those of you that want my treasured homemade hard peppermint candy recipe you can find it at my recipe site, Recipe Rush. This recipe is so easy to make, I don’t see why you would ever buy candy from a store again. You don’t have to just make peppermint, you can buy different flavored oils to make all different kinds of candy like butterscotch, lemon, or even grape. Whatever you have a taste for really can be made into a hard candy.
If you try out the recipe or have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll try to help any way I can. I love hearing from others how the recipe worked for them, so don’t forget to comment.
Happy Holidays! Let the candy making begin!!
sewing machine that I got for Christmas this year and what kind of sewing machine that I used to have.
I started with a Kenmore Ultra-Mini, the cool blue color totally rocked my world. But as I became more advanced in my sewing it started to not perform so well. My mother and I sewed all of our baby decor for the nursery with that sewing machine, but had a really hard time with the threading. It would come unthreaded and bunch up string under the fabric rather than actually sew something. My mother has a suspicion that the tension is off but I really have no idea what is wrong with it. The nursery decor was the last thing that the Kenmore Ultra-Mini ever sewed. It was bitter sweet knowing that I could no longer use this cute little machine. I attempted to sew an apron with this machine but the threading problem happened again, so I stored it in the cabinet to never see the light of day again. The Kenmore Ultra-Mini is a sewing machine for beginners that don’t know much about sewing. They no longer sell this model, so if you want one you have to do a search for it on Ebay or something similar. Go yardsaling you might find one there.
Now onto my new baby. The Brother LS-2125i what a beauty of a sewing machine you really are. I love you and I’ve only sewn up a pair of holy jeans for my husband with you. I see lots of potential for you. You are a little bigger than my first sewing machine but you look to be very sturdy. Threading the bobbin and the actual machine was very easy. The first stitch was effortless and you just exude ubber coolness as you sit on my sewing desk. I heart you
Brother LS-2125i, I can foresee lots of wonderful sewing projects coming from you.

What I am really excited about is that I can now resume making the projects in the Amy Butler’s In Stitches: More Than 25 Simple and Stylish Sewing Projects book. I love this book and want to make everything in it. I have already made the pillows on the front cover, now I can make the other items as well. After I sew a few projects out of Amy Butler’s Book, I will move onto the Amy Butler Nappy Diaper Bag Tote & Changing Pad Sewing Pattern that I also bought way back in my sewing craze.
It feels so good to have my sewing craze back. I love being crafty. Not only does being crafty save me money but it is also a lot of fun to do. You can’t replace the pride you have when you make something versus when you just buy it at the store.
My Precious Kid is an online store that has tones of great products that parents absolutely must have. When you are preparing for baby, My Precious Kid has got you covered with all of their really great safety products from electric outlet covers to child identification kits. Two of my favorite products are the Tiny Diner Portable Placemat and the portable Time Out Mat.
The Portable Time Out Mat has been such a life saver for us. Anywhere I am, I now have a time out mat with me to get those unruly toddler behaviors under control. We love using the time out method and dare I say this time out mat makes it a little fun for me even. I love products like this that take a practical idea and designates a specific product to do that task for you. No one likes to discipline their children but this helps the child to see that there will be a consequence for their actions. You can either place the child in time out or the item that the children might be fighting over.
The Portable Baby Placemat makes feeding baby even easier without all the mess. One thing I hate about going out to eat is the inevitable mess that comes trying to feed a toddler and a baby. Now we can cut down on the huge mess with the portable baby placemat. It folds up and fits nicely in your diaper bag and you don’t have to worry about those yucky germs that are on the restaurant’s high chair or table.
There are a lot more great items at My Precious Kid than just these two things. Go check them out!
Boon Inc. is by far one of my favorite online shops. They have such unique products that definitely stand out in a crowd of endless normalities. You all remember my previous review of Boon’s frog pod and potty training chair well now Boon is making ultra modern feeding products to help make feeding time a little more fun.
The snackball that boon makes is by far my favorite product. It is simple and compact. The nice ball shaped design keeps messes at bay as well as being little enough for small hands to hold onto. The snack ball is my favorite to take with us on long road trips. We all know how boring a car ride can be and the inevitable hunger that comes with them. Now you can keep the kids happy and satisfied with the snack ball. After all the yummy treats are gone from inside it makes a nice little toy for the baby to play with. Well, at least, our baby likes to play with it rather than eat the contents inside.
The modware toddler utensils are not your average spoon and fork. These fun utensils come in a bright orange color with my favorite mod dots. The handles are easy to hold onto with their soft grip and the rounded design makes sure that baby doesn’t get hurt by sharp edges. These toddler utensils helps make learning to eat not only easier but a lot more fun as well.
The
groovy interlocking bowl and plate set keeps all of baby’s favorite foods at easy grasp. The bowls and plate are at the perfect size for holding baby’s food while the dipping bowls make it fun to allow baby to “play with their food”. I assure you no other mother on the block has a cool bowl and plate set like this one.
If you think these products are great, you should go check out what other fun items Boon Inc. has to offer.
My mother was visiting me the early part of last week and surprised me by taking me clothes shopping as an early birthday present. *just so you know my birthday isn’t until August 3rd so you have plenty of time to get me a gift, just kidding* We hit up the local Goody’s because they were having a huge summer clearance sale. Here are the outfits that we bought…

Pardon my exhausted slash running around in 100 degree weather with two kids look on my face, just pay attention to the clothing. So what do you think? Which outfit is your favorite? Let me know so you can help me decide what to wear tomorrow for our 4th of July celebration.
Also when I saw this purse [photo to the right] on the rack I just had to have it. It is so cute and soft. I LOVE IT!!! It is by duckhead, by the way, in case you are interested. Oh and It was 40% just like the rest of the stuff that I got. I think I paid maybe $12 for my new favorite accessory…
Thanks Mom for an awesome early birthday present. Just wait to see what I got you, you are going be floored! Luv Ya!
BTW in case you were wondering, weightloss wise I’m at 158ish give or take a couple pounds depending on what I eat or wear…hee hee. Its coming off but slowly but at least it is coming off right?
*Don’t Forget Today’s other posts about…Reynold’s Slow Cooker Liners, Lisa’s Baby Booties, & pnut’s favorite fish shirt from Skimbaco. Have you tried these products? Would you buy them? If you are already an owner, how do you like them? Let me know what you think. I love hearing from my readers.
Also, after you are done reading and commenting [hint, hint, double hint] about the posts from today [see above in case you missed them or have mommy brain like me and need to be reminded again to go comment] go check out Kidlets which as also been updated about babywearing.
