Mama, I can’t fly!

So I’ve been extremely under the weather lately so pnut has been watching some of his favorite movies instead of playing outside. Well one of his favorite movies is Peter Pan. While I was in the bathroom taking care of my business, pnut walks in with his “sword” which is a popsicle stick and hops about the bathroom saying “Mama, I can’t fly! I want to fly like Peter Pan.” I tried to remember the movie from my childhood telling him that he needed “Pixie Dust” and if he believed he could fly then he could. Ha ha, Had to keep the story going. After several more failed attempts to fly, I changed the subject by asking who he was and who I was. He said I was tinkerbell and he was one of the lost boys. We had a small sword fight with a toothbrush and popsicle stick, all while I was still sitting on the “potty”….ROFL. A mother rarely gets two seconds to herself.

Pnut’s Third Birthday

I can’t believe pnut’s birthday has come and gone and that he is already three years old. My little boy isn’t so little any more. He had a blast at his birthday party because he actually knew what was going on. He kept saying to me throughout the day “Happy Burday, Mama, Happy Burday!” to which I would reply “Yes, pnut, Happy Birthday you are three years old today!”. He loved every minute of it. He especially loved that his two step brothers got to come to his party.

Toddlers 102 degree fever

Poor little pnut. Thursday he woke up with a 102°F fever. I felt so bad for him, he was completely miserable. It even hurt for me to snuggle up with him. Pnut hardly ever gets sick and when he does, boy does he milk it good…ha ha. He spent the majority of the time in mommy’s bed with elmo on repeat. That is what he wanted to watch and since he felt so bad I didn’t feel like arguing with him. I know that when I am sick all I want to do is sit in bed and watch my favorite shows and that is exactly what he did. He wouldn’t eat and barely would drink. I gave him a soothing bath and plenty of tylenol. By the next day the fever broke, thanfully. We were really worried about our little man.

Tummy Time

The bean absolutely loves his tummy time. He will lay on his stomach doing his little baby push ups while I either fold clothes, or while the pnut is watching television or playing. He loves watching big brother. He usually just lays on his tummy and laughs as life passes him by. For all those who have been wondering the bean has mastered the roll over. Both from front to back and back to front. Here is a video I think I took a month ago but can’t really remember.

One second, I go pee!

Today, I decided to take the pnut with me to the grocery store while the bean stayed home and slept with Daddy. While we were at the grocery store doing our typical grocery shopping, I remembered that I need to get a box of nerds from the candy aisle. We use nerds in our potty training routine. The nerds trick has worked really well. Pnut has been 100% potty trained since his 2nd birthday. Not even any accidents at night!

I grabbed the box and put it in the buggy. Pnut turned to me with the most serious look on his face and said….

“OH…OK…Hold on, One second….I go pee!”

You see, he wanted to eat the nerds and knows that in order to get nerds he has to go to the bathroom and do his duty. I told him he had to wait until we got home and that he could have some nerds then. He was very content with that answer, which surprised me since now-a-days the tiniest no can send the pnut into a 2 yr old raging fit. But not today. He was very good today and got a nice treat when we got home.

Where is my popcorn!

The pnut is so funny. A couple days last week we would watch a movie during the afternoon to pass the time away. But we haven’t watched a movie since. The other day pnut comes up to me and says “Mama….movie….OK?…OK!” then runs to the videos and proceeds to pick out what he wants to watch. I say to him, “Ok, pnut you can watch a movie”. Glee beams from pnuts face as he proceeds to go get the sumo lounge from the corner of the room and place it on the floor. We watch movies in front of the television, all piled onto the sumo lounge. It is lots of fun and oh so comfortable.

I start the movie for him and proceed to finish washing the dishes. Pnut runs into the kitchen and screams…

“WHERE’S MY POPCORN!!! POPCORN…MAMA!!! PAWEEEEEEEEEZ!”

I ask him if he wants popcorn. And screams “YES MA’AM!” Who can resist such manners?

I think it is funny that he now associates popcorn with movie time even though we only had movie days a couple times.

Party of 4

My step-sons, Big Head #1 and Big Head #2, are going to be staying with us for the whole month of July just about. Since we had moved to the middle of nowhere early last year, we didn’t get to see them on the weekends like we usually did but now that we have moved back to our homestate we are able to see them again. We arranged to get them for the whole month of July to make up for the weekends that we had missed. We have been having lots of fun since Friday cooking all sorts of things in the kitchen from cookies, bread, and even pretzels. Even though I am more exhausted with 4 kids in the house, I like that pnut has someone to play with. He loves playing with his brothers. They brought there game cube with them which in turn has made pnut and hubby complete video game addicts!!! This can not be a good thing….

How bad is it that the only game pnut likes to play is a fighting game. He is beating up people. So terrible. I prefer educational video games and programing on the television. I do not usually let pnut play games like this or watch just ordinary cartoons that don’t teach anything. But for one month I will let it slide so he can attempt to be like the “big boys”. Besides it is good seeing hubby and pnut playing with my stepsons, laughing and having such a great time together.

Pnut if I have my way, you will not be getting a “big boy” game system for christmas. You can stick with your V.Smile Deluxe TV Learning System.
