Outside Fun

Such a big boy…the past month in review.
Recently, p-nut has been trying to put on my flip flops whenever I fling them off and lay on the futon. It is so cute to see him try to wiggle his little toes in between the thong of the flip flop.
His new word is “shut up”. He goes around the house repeating this phrase over and over again. It is a whole lot better than his previouse favorite word which was the “s” word [yes, the same cuss word you are thinking about]. I am fine with “shut up” just as long as he doesn’t ever say the “s” word again.
Last week, p-nut did the sweetest thing ever. P-nut is only allowed to have his pacy at naps and bedtime. Anytime he is in the crib, it is him and pacy time. He has been doing this since he was 9 mos old. He also knows that when he gets out of the crib he has to give me the pacy or leave it in the crib. Well, I put him in the crib so that I could take a quick shower. I got out of the shower and was walking up to the crib to get him out so he could run around and play. As I was walking out to him, he took out his pacy, stretched it out in his little hand towards me as if to hand it to me and said “HERE!”. That was so cute. I took it from him and he reached his arms up for me to take him out of the crib. It was incredibly cute to here him say “here” and more amazed am I that he actually was handing the pacy over to me.
Also, p-nut loves to give kisses on the mouth now. I’ll be sitting on the floor playing with him and he will all of a sudden come up to me grab me and give me a big open mouth slobbery baby kiss right on the lips or shall I say nose and chin area. Despite how messy they are I really love the kisses he gives me. Knowing that he really wants to give his mother a kiss is the greatest feeling.
P-nut loves books. Everyday he takes all of his little books out of his book shelf. Babbles on and on to himself whilst turning the pages. He has a favorite book about caterpillars turning into butterflies [I can quote it to you if you would like…lol] that he loves me to read to him. It has thick cardboard pages that are easy for him to turn. I think his favorite part about reading, is turning the pages. Every time we sit down to read it we have to at least read it 5 or more times each sitting.

Tantrums at 1?
As of late, about a week or so, p-nut has been throwing these little baby tantrums. Whenever we tell him “no” he will talk back in his baby language. When we try to lay him down to change his pamper he will bow back and not lay down flat, or if I take something away from him he will literally fall out either on the bed or the floor making these mad grunting noises. I didn’t think the terrible twos started until he was TWO, but he is trying to get his way and not really wanting to listen to authority. When I try to feed him he turns his head almost everytime, I have to pry open his little mouth and stick some food in, once I get the first bite in him then he is all good for the rest of the meal. I think he thinks I’m going to give him something yucky.

Fruit Loops?
Hubby gave the p-nut fruit loops this morning. Now in case you didn’t know fruit loops are bigger than cheerios….it makes me nervous watching him eat them, I am so scared that he is going to choke, but hubby keeps telling me to chill out that he is a big boy now. I have a huge fear that he is going to choke one day and I am not going to be able to know how to help him. Just a mother’s fear.
