Today I have decided to start potty training p-nut early. I don’t quite know what to do or how to actually make him go potty but I am doing my best to do all of the research and talk to other moms on how this milestone is supposed to happen. I cleaned and disinfected his toddler potty, so he is now ready to be the little prince of the throne. I sat him down on the potty 3 times today with no progress but one little tiny poot and stares. He doesn’t quite understand why he is naked and sitting on this blue potty. I tell him he needs to poop, pee, go the the bathroom but all i get in return are stares. I take him off of the pot, put his pamper back on and he immediately goes to the bathroom. Potty training is going to be hard. But it something the p-nut and I must overcome.
This morning whilst fletcher was getting ready for work drinking some water, the p-nut kept coming up to him, tilting his head back and putting his hand to his mouth mimicing what his father was doing. He signed the word “drink” and didn’t even know it. Anytime we eat or drink, he will do the same sign. It is so cute. I caught it on video too, I am so proud. I am going to turn this sign that he has taught himself into the real sign for “drink” [like for juice, cup, drink, milk]. He has also learned the sign “more” by tapping the tips of his fingers together. If his cup is empty, I’ll ask him to bring it to me, and then ask him if he wants “more” and do the sign. I won’t give him more juice until he signs “more” to me. I’ll do the same for cheerios, animal crackers, or anything else that he is eating.
My little football player….In honor of the superbowl I decided to teach my son how to play football at the ripe age of 13 months. Ill bend over and get in the 3 point stance and hand the ball to my son through my legs. I’ll then instruct him to “throw it down”. Well throw our arms up into the air yelling “TOUCHDOWN!” and then do our enzone dance by telling him to “tapdance” [which is him basically running in place]. He really likes the enzone dance part the best, sometimes he will skip the touchdown part and go straight to dancing. It is so cute!
Isnt it neat how they can sign stuff? Caleb doesnt do the sign for drink right either. I taught him how to do it properly… but he insist on doing it differently. He puts his hands under his chin and waves his fingers *looks likes like the sign the kids did on “The Little Raschals” to get into the “He man woman haters club.” (Heres a picture of it - http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a170/DreaWd/CaleblayingonDadleg.jpg )
We know what he means though… so I suppose its all good its cute either way… and it gets him what he wants.
He use to sign for his milk all the time.. but since he learned “drink” he insist on using just that. He also learned where the juice and milk comes from.. so he tends to just point to it in the fridge lol.
My friend Lis… her daughter Providence is a month or two younger than Caleb and knows 40 different signs… isnt that unreal? Shes unusually bright.
any how. Happy Potty Training. Maybe he will catch on quick like Caleb has. Calebs 17 mo old and is just not getting to where he tells me. So your not doing bad at all. Shoot be happy he will sit there without screaming his head off Some 3 yr olds wont even do that!
That they do! He loves music, any commercial, radio, even the local on the 8’s weather channel music he is dancing away. Thanx for visiting and commenting.
Hello, my name is P-nut. I'm the first born and my momma's heart. I'm a very well-behaved toddler. I've been sleeping in my big boy bed since August of 2006 and I've gave up my pacey sometime in September of the same year. I'm growing up, Mama! I love playing with my dog, "DoJo" and learning my letters. I could watch Elmo and Sesame Street all day long if Mommy would let me.
