Ouchie Fun?
Pnut is loving going to the doctor with me for his new baby brother. He calls the doctor “the ouchie”. After leaving one of my many appointments he asked me in the sweetest voice…”Mommy, ouchie fun?” Yes, Pnut ouchie fun….LOL. He calls the doctor the ouchie because he thinks that I’m getting a needle when I’m having my blood pressure taken.
He has been really helping me with my pregnancy and getting ready for the debut of his little brother. We’ve spent alot of time in his baby brother’s room and he loves to help me put things away. He is also concerned about me hurting myself since I am so large and he can tell how uncomfortable I am. “Be Careful, Momma” he says as I walk somewhere. After the bottles were washed he took one and ask “Baby? Momma”. Yes, I said, that is for the baby. “Juice?” ha ha, he thought that it was to put juice in. I explained to him that it was for milk, that the baby will drink milk when he comes. Pnut then opened the refridgerator and pulled the gallon of milk out and said “Here, Momma, Here”. LOL Such a smart boy.
We talk about “Baby Kaleb” everyday. More and more as the days grow closer to delivery. If you ask him a question concerning the belly he usually either lifts his shirt or my shirt and pat mine/his tummy and says “Baby, mommy tummy”. He knows there is a baby in my tummy but doesn’t know that he is going to come out.
Since pnut loves doing everything that I do, I bought him an elmo that acts like a baby. It has a bottle and is dressed up just like the baby will be at the hospital. This way he can pretend to take care of “his baby” while I’m busy taking care of the real one.
I just hope pnut isn’t jealous of all the extra time I have to spend with the new little one.

My Little Reader
Pnut LOVES books. So much so that we spend the majority of our day reading his rapidly growing book collection. He of course as a couple favorite books that we absolutely must read at least 20 times a day. We have read these books so much that he even has them memorized and when mommy is just too tired or sick of reading the same thing he will gladly sit on the floor at my feet and read the book to me. How cute is that? I’ve been trying to get a video of it but of course he gets shy and doesn’t want to cooperate.
This is the book that we BOTH have memorized…
I must say that this book is a favorite of mine. I love how my sons face lights up each and everytime we read as if it was the first time. To show how interested the pnut has become in learning and reading at two years old is in his new favorite show. “Between the Lions” is a PBS show that comes on in the afternoons. It is only 30 minutes long but my son is totally loving learning what each letter sounds like. It teaches kids to read basically. Now I know this is geared toward older kids but why restrict a kids learning. It is so great to hear my son playing in his room, reading his books, and going through letters trying to figure out what they sound like. “Ba Ba Ba” he says as he looks at the letter B on our refridgerator. Yet another video I’ve yet to capture. The pnut is growing up so fast it is hard to believe. Lately, he has also been using his manners. He learned how to say “Yes, Ma’am”. Can you believe that. I believe I only said it once and he picked it up just like that. It is so incredibly cute. He says “Please” “Thank You” and now “Yes, Ma’am”. He doesn’t know to call the men “Sirs” so it is really funny when he says “yes, ma’am” to daddy. It is good that he has picked up on these manners because kids now a days just don’t have any at all.
