Sick
Poor, poor pnuts. Last night we let pnut sleep in our bed because we are taking his new friend back from where he came from. So we all piled onto the bed and cuddled up for a cold 8 degree weather night. This morning when pnut woke up he had a 101 degree fever and a nasty little cough. I knew he felt pretty bad when he wanted Daddy to hold him instead of me. So Daddy and Pnut laid on the couch and watched sesame street. I gave him some tylenol to break the fever and a cup of juice since he doesn’t feel like eating. I just sent hubby to the store to get some cough medicine whilst pnut watches Bear in the Big Blue House. I have a feeling today will be a lazy day for the pnut. Which is alright with me because when you are sick it is best to take it easy.

Pnut Finger Paints
Click here to view a slideshow of pnut finger painting
Today pnut tackled finger painting for the first time in almost a year. We haven’t fingerpainted for the simple fact that it is extremely messy but we needed to get messy. Pnut loved it and was oh so proud of his work. We put his art on his bedroom walls for him to admire.

Potty Progress
We are making some progress on the pooping in the potty front. Pnut has now started to pass gas on the potty so we’ve got the right hole down…lol. Maybe he hasn’t gotten down the whole “feeling” thing of having to go #2 like he has with going pee-pee. Whenever he pooties, I make a HUGE deal out of it. We have now designated the potty chart in the bathroom as the poopies and boo-boo chart. He only gets stickers on that chart when he attempts #2. I know we will get there eventually. I have faith. It just can be very frustrating at times, especially when he takes his underwear off and poops on the floor.

Sunday, Sunday!!
Today me and mommy had a fun day filled with lots of fun stuff to do. First we woke up and ate Lucky Charms. I eat all the marshmellows first before I eat the actual cereal. It is rather messy because I use my hands but hey you are only a kid once right. After breakfast mommy let me play my vsmile while she took care of business on the net and listened to a sermon from the church she used to go to back in GA. Mommy misses her church. We haven’t been able to find a good church here yet so for right now podcasts is all we got. After video game time, I helped mommy make a banana bundt cake. The kitchen got pretty messes not too long after we started. Here are some photos mommy took of me cooking today.
While the cake cooked, I took my nap. When I got up mommy built me my very first fort/house. I liked it alot. It was really fun to play with. It was especially fun to watch mommy, 23 weeks pregnant, try to get in the fort with me. “Come In” I would ask her everytime I wanted to play. Mommy’s body has grown alot and she can no longer fit through my tiny toddler house door so she had to go in the back way.
Here are some photos of our fort…
After playing “house” it was time to cook supper. I helped mommy put away the dishes by putting up the silverware and handing her the plates and things so that she could put them on the top shelf. I even took the pots and put them in the right cubbards. Mommy says I’m so smart and such a big helper. Since mommy was cooking “hot” stuff, I couldn’t help her this time so for the rest of the night I played with Daddy and “DoJo”.

We’re Back
If you haven’t been reading my mother’s blog, we had an emergency and had to go away for a little while. But now we are back and trying to get everything back to normal. With this post I’m going to try to catch ya’ll up on all the things that you’ve missed about me for the past month or so.
Upon leaving I was doing GREAT with potty training but with all the hustle, bustle, and changes lately I’ve taken a couple steps back. Mommy had to retrain me all over again. I’m now a nudist again until I can re-understand to go to the potty like a big boy. Mommy still can’t get me to poop in the potty though. For some reason I’m still scared to poop in the potty. The other day I pooped in my pamper, took it off, dropped the poop in the potty and flushed. I ran to mommy and told her what I did. See, she usually does that so I’m just mimicing her. It was sweet and cute but she told me that I need to poop in the potty just like I pee-pee. I doubt I’ll do it anytime soon though.
I love my Vtech V.Smile TV Learning System that I got for christmas from “Mama Dee”. I especially love the V.Smile Smartridge: Elmo’s World - Elmo’s Big Discoveries that she gave me for it. I’ve gotten pretty good with working the game over the past month. Mommy lets me play about an hour a day. Most of the things that I got for christmas was elmo related. If you can’t tell, elmo is my favorite.
I like to mimic…EVERYTHING. From tv commercial/shows to the radio. I mimic everything I hear. It is really funny to watch me watch tv because I sit there and can basically resight everything that is being said. I sing along to the radio whenever mommy turns it on during the day. I try my best to say whatever is being said. My vocabulary has really grown over the last couple of months.
Here are some photos from the month:

2nd B-day
Pnut has turned two! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. I miss my little baby. All mothers say it feel just like yesterday but to be honest it really does. It amazes me how much he has learned in just 2 short years.
He is talking more and actually saying words that other people can understand even though I have to interpret some of the time. He knows all of his letters and can read what the letter is if written. He knows his numbers and can count to ten sometimes fourteen. Once he gets his numbers down a little bit better we will move onto colors and shapes.
Although we had to celebrate his birthday without family it was a pretty good day overall. I made a pizza and an elmo cake. He opened his presents to which he got a portable elmo potty seat, some big boy training underwears, and an elmo aquadoodle.
Here are a few photos of cake time…

Potty Training Update
Pnut is doing great on the potty training front. Last monday, as you may remember, we started potty training hard core. My son is now a nudist, running around the house completely naked. We started out naked so he could start to understand how he pee’s, where it comes from, and how to stop it and go to the potty. By Wednesday, he had the concept down and goes straight to the potty when the moment arises. No more accidents on the floor, except for boo-boo’s. Those are a different matter.
Over the weekend pnut started a new trick. STANDING UP! Yes, he now refuses to sit down and pee pee, he wants to stand up just like daddy. And I must say he has GREAT aim. Hits the hole everytime. Now granted the seat might get a little wet but at least the floor is dry. It is so funny to watch him stand up and pee. He leans over the potty and puts his hand on the wall. So cute.
I made a potty chart to record his progress and eventually put in his scrapbook when he is done with his training. I put some elmo stickers on it out of his sticker book, which he thoroughly enjoys. We have little tiny stars that we stick on the chart for each thing he does on the potty. They represent the following.
- 1 star = pee on potty
- 2 stars = pee standing up
- 3 stars = boo-boo on potty
For the first half of the week he got 1 star, then he started standing up so he’s been getting 2 stars. He has only gotten the 3 stars once and that was yesterday after I caught him in the act of boo-booing and told him to stop and go to the potty. To which he did.
Often times, he goes in the bathroom all by himself, does his business and I don’t know about it till he comes and tells me. He still goes to the bathroom in his clothes if he has real underwear or a pull-up on. So we are trying to learn that even though we have clothes on that doesn’t mean we can go to the bathroom whenever we want. It is a work in progress.

Potty Training
So earlier this week I really buckled down and started pnut on his potty training. My goal is to have him completely potty trained and out of pampers by the time his sibling is born in late May. That gives us roughly 6 mos. to get this potty training thing down pat.
To start off potty training I had pnut run around the house butt booty naked. We mainly stayed in the living room and kitchen which has nice tile floors for easy clean up of messes. Whenever he would start to go, I’d tell him to “stop, go to the potty and pee pee”. He’d immediately stop the stream and rush to the bathroom to finish up his business on the potty chair. The reason for this is to get him to realize what if feels like to have to go and to know to go in the potty and not on the floor.
We started this on Monday, by Thursday he has gotten the hang of “going” and when he needs to go he will run to the bathroom or tell me “boo-boo” which means I have to go to the bathroom. Thursday was a break through day for us. It started in the late afternoon when he started to go pee pee in the living room [keep in mind I was in the back of the house], he immediately stopped what he was doing and went into the bathroom all by himself and went pee-pee on top of the potty chair. I had put the potty chair lid down when he wasn’t using it and apparently he couldn’t get it opened so he just sat on top of the lid and went. Not his fault. Completely mine. But it is good that he knew to go to the bathroom and where to pee pee. He immediately came and got me and told me “boo boo”. So I rushed to see where the “accident” was. To my surprise it was actually in the bathroom. I was so proud. So this time after we cleaned up our mess, we left the potty seat UP so if he decided to try to go by himself that he could just sit down with no problem. And sure enough, an hour later he went to the bathroom again, all by himself and pee pee’d in the potty. After he was finished he rushed to find me and told me he “boo boo’d”. Oh, was I proud of my little boy.
We have sort of a reward system. Each time he pee-pee’s or boo-boo’s in the potty he gets a bowl with some nerds candy. He loves nerds candy. He knows by now that he gets some nerds candy for using the potty so he will ask me for the “bowl”. I tell him no if he hasn’t used the potty and he’ll sit down and try to go. If he just can’t go he’ll tell me “no pee pee’s”. So cute.
He is a quick learner…knock on wood. Now we just have to figure out how to make boo boo’s in the potty.

First SNOW Day!
Yesterday, pnut got his first glimpse at snow. He was practically glued to the window, as was I, watching it come down and coat everything in a glistening white. He’d sit down and make “butt angels”, run around and chase KoJo or just plop himself down on the pile of snow that I was trying to use to make the base for my snow man. He just loved it!

We were also forced to wear sunglasses due to how BRIGHT the snow was! had we not had sunglasses on we would have been blind in two hours.
Here are some photos of pnut taking a long nap.
passed out!
