This week we are talking about straight hair. If you have been following along with me the last several weeks you’d know that I’ve been testing out a new line of haircare products that can be found at Walmart called Schwarzkopf. I was sent several products to try out through out the weeks and this week we are focusing on the Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime: Heat Protection Straightening Style Cream. When heat styling it is SO important to protect your hair. I haven’t worn my hair straight in quite some time as I often gravitate towards curlier hair styles since my hair is naturally curly. However, I was very interested in seeing how my hair looks incorporating this new heat protecting straightening style cream into my straightening routine.
I pulled out my blow dryer and flat iron. While my flat iron heated up, I applied about a quarter size amount of the Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime: Heat Protection Straightening Style Cream to my freshly washed hair. To do this I simply rubbed the product in my hands. Then, I applied it to the ends of my hair first. Any remaining products on my hands I then applied to the rest of my hair. I have very long hair, however a very little bit of product is all that one needs to see results. I would highly recommend using less than you think you need at first as you can always apply more product later if you are not achieving the results that you would like.
Since beginning this challenge, I’ve been blow drying my hair with a round brush. Using the Schwarzkopf line of products I’ve noticed that I get a sleeker, less-frizzy look to my hair right after blow drying so most days I don’t feel the need to straighten my hair with a blow dryer. The same is true when applying the heat protection straightening style cream. After blow drying with a round brush or paddle brush my hair was very straight. I ran a flat iron through my hair to smooth out any areas that needed it to complete the look.
I love that this product is a heat protectant as I know that heat styling can be very damaging to the hair so I like to protect it as much as possible. It is easy to use too much of this product at first. But after a few uses you learn how much product your hair actually needs. Also, I noticed that my hair was slightly weighed down by this product at the roots so my recommendation would be to only apply it to the ends of the hair or just apply a small amount to the areas that you will be heat styling. The Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime: Heat Protection Straightening Style Cream can be found in Walmart stores for $6.97 and makes a great addition to a hair care routine to help one achieve a straight, frizz-free look.
