Valentine’s Day: Send a Secret Message with Brach’s Conversation Hearts

I grew up with Brach’s candies, specifically their conversation hearts. As soon as you see them hit the store shelves you know that Valentine’s Day is near. This year, along with the classics, Brach’s has made available a Create Your Own! Large Converstion Hearts kit. These kits are available at Walmart and includes blank candy hearts and a food-safe pen. The ideas are endless as to what one can do with the kit!

As a part of the Walmart Moms, I was given a kit to try out for myself. As you can see I had a bit of fun on my own creating conversation hearts. I found that writing single letters on the large conversation hearts worked out best for me but one could also squeeze a small saying on them as well like “I ❤ Mom”.

But I didn’t want to keep the Brach’s fun all to myself. I decided to create a secret message to share with my boys.

A quick search on the internet will yield lots of results on how to fold an easy envelope. The key is starting off with a square piece of paper. I opted to use some old cardstock I had in my craft supply.

On the inside of my “envelope” I placed several blanks that correspond to the different words that will be spell out using the Brach’s Create Your Own Conversation Hearts. Above that I simply put “decode the message” using some scrapbook stickers I had on hand.

I folded the envelope up with the conversation hearts inside with our “secret” message written on them. I sealed the envelope with a heart sticker and on the front side you can see the words “Top Secret” with scrapbook stickers.

I gave the “secret message” to the boys and they were delighted to open it. They immediately started trying to decode the message. It was fun to see. But as soon as they finished decoding the message, they dove right in tasting the Brach’s Conversation Hearts. I would say our Valentine’s Day Secret Message was a hit!

What would you create with Brach’s Create Your Own Conversation Hearts?
