It’s been a while since I shared how I store my nail polish and nail care items. It’s definitely time for an update as my nail polish collection has grown quite a bit. I’ve been pretty consistent with painting my nails, just the other day I shared some fun ways to paint nail art to add something unique and different to your everyday nails. Painting my nails is a part of my weekly beauty routine. With DIY manicures and pedicures comes a lot of nail care stuff. Here’s how I store my nail care items in a decorative, yet functional way:
Above is a photo of what my nail care boxes look like just laying about. I usually keep them next to one of the chairs in my home office. These decorative boxes are just hat boxes that my Mom found at a craft store. They are usually pretty inexpensive and some craft stores even have coupons that can turn them into great deals. So you are probably wondering, what do I keep in these boxes?
The large box holds my nail care items. Things like nail polish remover, nail files, hand lotion, and cotton balls can be found in here. I keep things that make my nails and hands pretty in one box because its easy to find say when I need to file a chipped nail or something.
In the other box, I store the nail polishes I’ve collected. As you can see in the photo, there isn’t much room left in this box. Perhaps another nail polish box will be added soon. I like them being stored in a hat box because they are all together, I can easy pick out the color(s) that I need, and it is hidden when not in use.
Typically when I paint my nails I do it while I’m watching an episode of my favorite show or a movie with the hubby. So what I do is I grab the color(s) that I’m going to paint my nails from the nail polish box and take the nail care box with all of the tools that I need with me to whatever room we will be using. The lid of the hat box acts as a table as I’m sitting on the sofa, bed, or chair and I have everything I need to do my manicure in one convenient box.
