Do you have a hard time making a habit of applying lotion each day? Does your skin crave extra moisture, particularly in winter months? I have what I would consider to be normal skin. My skin is not too dry or too oily but in the winter months I can tell that my skin feels a bit tighter. My skin may feel it is a bit dryer in cold weather due to the use of heat in our home. The problem is, however, that I have a hard time making a habit of applying lotion after a long, hot shower even though I know I should be. Whenever I do remember to apply lotion out of the shower I’ve noticed that my skin feels a lot softer.
I was given the opportunity to try a sample of a fairly new type product on the market by St. Ives. I’ve loved St. Ives products all the way back to my high school days. I just can’t replace their Apricot Scrub with anything else in my Beauty Bag. So when they offered to send me a sample of their new Fresh Hydration Lotion, I just knew I wanted to give it a try in hopes of making applying lotion after a shower a bit easier.
St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion isn’t your typical type of lotion. This lotion takes the mess out of application with a spray nozzle. Yes, you read that right. It may sound a bit weird at first but after a couple of tries one quickly figures out the best way to apply it. I personally like to apply it directly out of the shower on my arms and legs. I spray the lotion in one continuous line down each arm and leg rubbing the lotion into the skin after each spray. This lotion absorbs fast! I found that if I sprayed my entire body and then tried to rub it in that it was already dry so I like to work on each area that needs a boost of moisture individually. I also love the subtle scent that it gives my skin. This lotion doesn’t have a very strong smell so it won’t overpower your favorite perfume. The streamlined can sits on my bathroom sink as a quick reminder to apply it after my showers.
Overall, I’ve enjoyed trying out the St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion and look forward to trying the other varieties available as well like Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract and Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter. My favorite aspect of this lotion is that it doesn’t have a greasy feel to it like a typical lotion and the ease of application. It’s an easy reminder for me to stay moisturized this winter.
