Can we talk brushes? The problem I have been having with my makeup brush sets is that I haven’t really been in love with any of the blush brushes. I’ve been making due with what I had but each brush I’ve tried seems to pack the product on too heavily and when dealing with blush that is definitely not something that I want to do. With blush I like just a hint of color on my cheeks to make me look alive, nothing too dramatic. So, I’ve been searching for a specific blush brush that I could add to my collection that would only be used for blush products. Before I was using any angled brush that I could get my hands on and would use it to not only contour but also apply blush.
So, I went on the hunt to find my idea of a perfect, affordable blush brush. And I think I found it. Many of you have probably heard of Real Techniques brushes by now. If not, they are pretty amazing! Not only are they super cute but they are also so incredibly soft. Some of the softest brushes I have ever felt!
What made Real Techniques Blush Brush stand out to me at the drugstore was the shape. It’s a large size brush yet not too big. The unique dome shape to the bristles allows you to pick up just the right amount of product. When using the soft bristles it will lightly buff the blush onto the skin softly without any harshness. The end look is soft, almost airbrush-like.
Another aspect of this brush that I really like is it has a flat bottom so instead of laying the brush down on the table when I am doing using it, I can sit it straight up until I’m ready to put it away in my brush holder. I have not tried washing this brush yet so only time will tell how well it will hold up after repeated washings. However unlike other drugstore brushes, I have not had any problems with bristles falling out thus far which I am very happy about. Most drugstore brushes leave something to be desired but this Real Techniques Blush Brush is a complete winner in my book.
