Do any of you like to try and get organized at the beginning of a new year? There has been lots of cleaning happening at my house lately and with all that cleaning I often look for better solutions to our storage. One area of our home that can always use more storage is in the kids rooms. Walmart carries a variety of different storage solutions from bins and baskets to hanging units and rolling carts. Today as a part of the Walmart Moms I’m sharing with all of you one easy way to customize simple storage containers to make them unique and personalized for your home.
At my local Walmart store, I picked up this Mainstays Kids 3-Drawer Medium Cart for just $11.97. It already comes in a fun color, blue, that matches my son’s space room but I wanted to personalize this 3 drawer rolling cart a little bit more to match the space theme of his bedroom. So, I picked up some space themed stickers, alphabet stickers, as well as a roll of wrapping paper with stars on it.
To customize the 3-drawer rolling cart, I first spelled out his name with the alphabet stickers on the top drawer. Then on the other drawers I placed the fun alien space stickers all over the front of each drawer. On the inside of the drawers I lined them using patterned wrapping paper. I first traced the bottom of each drawer onto a piece of wrapping paper and cut out the shape to fit. To keep the wrapping paper from shifting around, I applied some double stick tape to all four corners of the wrapping paper.
I love the way that this rolling cart turned out and my son loves that it is completely customized to fit in with the theme of his bedroom. He is excited to store his things inside the 3 drawer cart and I like that it didn’t take very long to create this custom storage cart for him. I could definitely see creating a few of these for our homeschool space as well to keep all of the boys books and supplies separated. The 3-drawer rolling cart and other supplies like stickers to personalize your storage can be found in Walmart stores.
